The Economics of the Second World War

We are delighted to announce the second event in our new online global seminar series, which takes place on 22 July from 12 to 1 PM (BST). Professor Stephen Broadberry (co-editor), Professor Hans-Joachim Voth (contributor) and Professor Pauline Grosjean (contributor) will discuss the recent open access eBook published on VoxEU.org, The Economics of the Second World War: Seventy-Five Years On.

The round table will focus on the economics of the Second World War and engage with key arguments relating to the causes (Voth), conduct (Broadberry) and consequences (Grosjean) of the conflict. The panellists will speak for thirty minutes allowing plenty of time for discussion and questions on both the eBook (available open access at the link above) and on the roundtable. The session will be recorded. The event is free but booking is essential, Please book via Zoom
